A growing number of Americans are turning to alternative medicine as the answer to their health needs. Many are not happy with the rising costs of traditional medicine, its impersonal nature, and sometimes devastating side effects of medications. Billions of dollars are spent each year on complementary and alternative medicine. Recent estimates indicate that more than 30 billion spent each year on all forms of alternative medicine at least four million dollars spent on herbs and other supplements.
